Can anyone tell me what type of wood is the best for the bed? In the instructions it looks like hardboard, is this affected by the hotbed ? I thought of using Plywood but due to it being a laminate would this bow when the hot bed is on ? I then thought of a plastic sheet but i am trying to replace a printer that is plastic as this causes all sorts of problems. I would also like to use bed auto levelling so will an inductive probe see wood? I am going to use a RADDS control as its the only control i have used that i have found to be reliable.

To us MDF (polywood) is great for the bottom of the heatbed. Otherwise a second aluminum sheet is also nice. MDF won't deform from the heat if it's not in direct contact with it.
For inductive probe you will need an aluminum sheet thick enougth (3mm is good) for the probe to detect it.
Does this help?.
